Body and Brain Gaithersburg launched 15 years ago, one of many sister locations sprinkled across the country. Since opening, it has brought physical and mental fitness in equal measure to the people of Gaithersburg through four classes: yoga, core strengthening, energy movement, and Tai Chi.
Yoga creates strength and flexibility in its practitioners using a combination of focused movement and breath, and it's appropriate for athletes of all ability levels. The core strengthening class brings together a combination of core breathing, stretching, and meditation to calm the mind as it builds up the body. Energy movement classes, meanwhile, get the heart pumping with an uptempo routine incorporating elements of dancing and tapping, and Tai Chi slows things down with focused movements, meditation, and breathing exercises.
